SEARCH ENGINE ALGORITHMS

Search Engine Algorithms
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
*************************
Search Engine Agendas
*************************

Many people believe that search engines have hidden agenda or promote certain thing that stop their sites from being listed. This impurity as a whole would cause the search engine to have low popularity since the search results would be biased and likely highly inaccurate. For this reasons each search engine tries to keep competitive high quality search results.

*******************************
Search Engines Emulate Users
*******************************
The role of a search engine is to emulate a user. Simply put, the job of a search engine to to index the web and provide high quality relevant content to fulfill the users desires. While each search engine is different, they all have the same goal: to be the best.

*********************************
Google VS Other Search Engines
*********************************
If you chase after profits, it will show in the results. Google has displayed a far deeper understanding of this than many of its piers. For that, Google has received praise and has won the hearts and minds of the general public. In all reality, links are important, as they are one of the fundamental basis the web was built on. It would be foolish to think that the other search engines were not good though. Grading web sites on links is one of the ways Google has helped to provide high quality web results. Link evaluation allows the web as a whole to decide what pages are the best.

******************************************
Search Engine Algorithms are Kept Secret
******************************************

Many people try to optimize a page based on exact algorithms of the search engines. To protect themselves, search engines have been active in using off site criteria to rank web pages. Here are a few search engine algorithm facts:

Anyone who knew the exact search engine algorithm would not be selling the information cheaply over the web.
Search engines change their algorithms many times each month to fight off "spam."
If people knew the exact algorithm then they could manipulate rankings as they please until the search results became so irrelevant that the search engine became junk.
Search engine algorithms are some of the most tightly kept secrets in the world for this reason.
Entire businesses, and businesses which spawn of those businesses which spawn off of those exist solely because of these search engine algorithms. You are reading one of them.

*********************************************
Facts About Search Engine Algorithm Secrets
*********************************************

Anyone who tells you they know a major search engine algorithm is probably a profit driven liar. If you are optimizing pages based solely on algorithms then you do not have the end user in mind. The single most important element in effective search engine optimization is linkage data. Pages which are written solely for search engines do not convert customers and do not inspire inbound links, and that's no secret!

ADVANTAGES IN SEO WEB MARKETING

SEO Article Details
Useful Advantages of SEO in Web Marketing
********************************************
Search engine optimization, or SEO, is a critical part of today’s best web marketing campaigns. Anyone who is serious about online success has to take SEO into account. Why is website optimization such an integral part of the web marketing world? There are numerous great reasons. You can learn a few of the very best ones by checking out the following list.

It Helps You Connect with Your Target Audience –
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Optimizing your site for certain keywords increases the odds that your ideal audience will find it. In the past, getting a lot of traffic was enough to make most website owners happy. The problem, of course, is that high volumes of traffic don’t necessarily translate into profitability. SEO lets you target keywords that your ideal audience will actually use. Whenever someone uses those keywords, the odds that your site will appear increases.

It Increases Conversion Rates –
--------------------------------------------------------
As the preceding point suggests, pulling your ideal audience to your site translates into better conversion rates. Conversion rates, of course, refer to turning visitors into customers. It’s nice to know that people are visiting your site, but it doesn’t help if they aren’t actually buying anything. Keyword-rich content and a well-optimized site can dramatically improve your conversion rates, creating better profit for your business.

It Is Easy to Analyze-
-------------------------------------
Analyzing your progress is easy to do with SEO. The results or benefits of your campaign should be readily apparent. An SEO firm can use different strategies to help you achieve your goals. All the while, though, you will always be in the loop about how your campaign is faring.

It is Flexible and Customizable  -
----------------------------------------------------------
The right SEO company will work to create a fully customized plan of attack for your SEO campaign. It will be tailor-made to suit your company’s specific goals and needs. Unlike other forms of marketing, cookie cutter approaches do not apply. Knowing that your campaign has been tailor-made to suit your needs is a great feeling. It also increases the odds of unbeatable success.

It is Affordable
-----------------------------
– It’s easy to find SEO assistance that you can afford. When you factor in its incredible ROI, good search engine optimization services offer exceptional value. Drawing in relevant traffic will boost your profits. This will put more money in your pocket, which reduces the expense of paying for SEO in the first place. In the long run, it’s a smart financial move.

It Provides Long-Term Benefits –
----------------------------------------------------------
No marketing plan is worth it if it only works for a short period of time. The amazing thing about great SEO is that it can provide clear, long-term results. This is especially true when you hire an SEO firm for the long haul. Website optimization works best when it’s an ongoing process. The success of an optimization campaign can snowball, too, creating even more dramatic success.

RIGHT KEYWORD OPTIMIZATION

Choosing the Right Keywords to Optimize For

It seems that the time when you could easily top the results for a one-word search string is centuries ago. Now, when the Web is so densely populated with sites, it is next to impossible to achieve constant top ratings for a one-word search string. Achieving constant top ratings for two-
word or three-word search strings is a more realistic goal.

For instance, If you have a site about dogs, do NOT try and optimize for the keyword "dog" or "dogs". Instead you could try and focus on keywords like "dog obedience training", "small dog breeds", "homemade dog food", "dog food recipes" etc. Success for very popular one-two word keywords is very difficult and often not worth the trouble, it's best to focus on less competitive highly specific keywords.

The first thing you need to do is come up with keywords that describe the content of your website. Ideally, you know your users well and can correctly guess what search strings they are likely to use to search for you. You can also try the Website Keyword Suggestions Tool below to come up with an initial list of keywords. Run your inital list of keywords by the Google keyword Suggestion tool, you'll get a related list of keywords, shortlist a couple of keywords that seem relevent and have a decent global search volume.

WHAT IS SEO

Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

SEO is a technique which helps search engines find and rank your site higher than the millions of other sites in response to a search query. SEO thus helps you get traffic from search engines.

How Search Engines Work

The first basic truth you need to know to learn SEO is that search engines are not humans. While this might be obvious for everybody, the differences between how humans and search engines view web pages aren't. Unlike humans, search engines are text-driven. Although technology advances rapidly, search engines are far from intelligent creatures that can feel the beauty of a cool design or enjoy the sounds and movement in movies. Instead, search engines crawl the Web, looking at particular site items (mainly text) to get an idea what a site is about. This brief explanation is not the most precise because as we will see next, search engines perform several activities in order to deliver search results – crawling, indexing, processing, calculating relevancy, and retrieving.

First, search engines crawl the Web to see what is there. This task is performed by a piece of software, called a crawler or a spider (or Googlebot, as is the case with Google). Spiders follow links from one page to another and index everything they find on their way. Having in mind the number of pages on the Web (over 20 billion), it is impossible for a spider to visit a site daily just to see if a new page has appeared or if an existing page has been modified, sometimes crawlers may not end up visiting your site for a month or two.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via the "natural" or un-paid ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results. In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on the search results page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine's users. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search, academic search,[1] news search and industry-specific vertical search engines.

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms or keywords typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content and HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of backlinks, or inbound links, is another SEO tactic.

The acronym "SEOs" can refer to "search engine optimizers," a term adopted by an industry of consultants who carry out optimization projects on behalf of clients, and by employees who perform SEO services in-house. Search engine optimizers may offer SEO as a stand-alone service or as a part of a broader marketing campaign. Because effective SEO may require changes to the HTML source code of a site and site content, SEO tactics may be incorporated into website development and design. The term "search engine friendly" may be used to describe website designs, menus, content management systems, images, videos, shopping carts, and other elements that have been optimized for the purpose of search engine exposure.
